ACTUALLY it's halfway through, I had new epic pantz. I bought that shield with epic badges I got from Kara (and heroics UGH) only to replace it with a better shield from Kara. My big ass shoulders were just PVP shoulders. It's incredibly easy to get PVP epics, all you have to do is do a few battlegrounds for a while. There's literally 100% margin for error, because you can lose, but as long as you're near the fighting you get honor and shit, so a lot of NEWBS in our guild were fully decked out with PVP epix, unfortunately most of them thought it meant they were really good at the game, when the fact is that everyone can get full PVP gear. Most of them would use their PVP gear in raids (full of + resilience which isn't even used in PVE, especially raids) to do all the huge crits and high damage shit, pull aggro immediately and drop dead in like 5 seconds. Then after the pull they'd post their damage meters, clogging up the chat log. I probably mentioned this like 10 times already. O_O
Anyway gear, that is what I was talking about. Jso and Kred have the same shoulders, which were just the blue non epic dungeon set. We had a lot more by the time we quit. I remember Kred really wanted those bad ass mail hunter shoulders from zulaman which were basically two big fat bear heads slapped on the shoulders, he kept referring to them as "the bear shoulders" or "my bear shoulders" like when moom or Mary would see a car and be like "OH THAT'S MY CAR" because they want it ha ha kered is like a WOMAN!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, he did zulaman like 50 times, which was a shitty new 10 man raid they added after kara for people who had literally everything in kara, and it was harder and had better gear. Our guild was fucking horrible at it, we only had one real tank, the rest were fucking idiots who were DPS warriors who just sucked and were dying all the time, most of them didn't have tanking gear for being tanks, which at the same time was bilge's fault. Anyway there was this douchebag enhance shaman who was of course a guild officer, and of course he died literally every single attempt at a boss anywhere, even in the normal instances, he was so bad and stupid, like every enhance shaman because really it was a stupid idea to "fix" shamans they just let them dual wield (only if you spec into enhancement talent tree of course, AND YOU CAN ONLY TAKE HUNTER MAIL because it gives + attack power, as opposed to the other specs where you need + spell power, so if you respec at all you have to have a full other set of gear ready to go or else there's no point). So Kered's doing za (ZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) going for bear shoulders, and they kept not dropping, even though they're from only the first or second boss. Once they don't drop, you have to wait for the instance to reset to do it again, which usually takes a couple days, or a week, so when they didn't drop his week was blown, because I was pretty sure that was all he wanted from the game at that point. He was like half joking "I bet if they drop the enhance shaman will just roll on them" even though the dumb ass shaman guild officer spent every single boss fight dead, and in Warhammer if you're dead for a fight that means your contribution to a roll is diminished, so the people who do better get the best chance on rolls. So, of course, they drop, and of course the enhance shaman gets the shoulders (while he's laying dead on the ground of course) and that was pretty much the end of the game, Kered canceled his account immediately. We'd have to endure much you and I, but within the week, there will be old men running the world. OLD MEN........ ARE THE FUTURE.
Kara let you get epics easier, that was good, because with only 10 people, there was more margin for error from the group, and people were able to pug it without a guild, which I kind of wish we did BUT OF COURSE ONLY IN RETROSPECT. So they almost did alright with Kara, because a lot more people in the game were actually finally able to get epics, like going up from 5% of the player base to maybe 20%. And it wasn't too hard, you had to learn some boss strats, and it was still quite a slog to make it through a lot of trash mobs to get to a boss that requires some arbitrary strategy that's read from a wiki page (don't stand in the black circle when it shows up, don't DPS when the boss glows, etc). Aside from that, blizzard fucked the rest of it up, because they're incompetent age combined with drink etc. |
