Cockroaches are killing people, but they all turn out to be paranoid hallucinations by the townspeople. Mulder does some research with nymphomaniac supermodel entomologist "Bambi" who loves flirting over cockroach genitalia discussions. This makes Scully jealous and spent the whole episode saying "whatever". By pure coincidence, Mulder just happens to find a metal cockroach at a scene that's an exploratory robot from an alien species. He brings it to a Stephen Hawking clone robotics professor who ends up stealing Bambi when she gets turned on over his work with robot bugs. The final showdown is inside a fertilizer plant where a gunshot sets off a manure methane explosion, showering everyone with shit.
