| I couldn't sleep so here's the highlights reel in case this all gets flushed down the internet hole later this week.
Headline: 
The short version: /v/ wrote: Phil Fish's twitter account is suspended as I type this. Quinn's is full of posts about people crawling into her dropbox and how sorry she is for friends of hers who are being attacked. A few hours ago, the index page of Fish's company website looked like this: 
Anyone who's read 4chan for ten minutes will smell a rat. The /v/ideogames board instantly started arguing over how hard they were being trolled. Plenty assumed he was doing it to himself, or else Quinn was the culprit because she wasn't pressing charges to avoid legal risk. Things got very Creative Writing 101. /v/ wrote: The page had a link to a compressed file claiming to be dox on Fish and source code from his projects. It weighed in at over a gig and a half. A cautious anon in the thread started streaming an attempt to open it on a virtual machine. 
He got as far as rifling through Fish's private documents and source code before he got banned from the site. /v/ wrote: And so on. The file may still be up somewhere if you want to look around. I wasn't that curious myself. An invoice floated to the surface at some point.

Zoe had a friend along to tell her story. 
Suddenly it was time for solidarity, whiteknighting, and being a strong independent woman.

This guy is ready to FIGHT, man. As always, 4chan is full of scorn and paranoia. Quinn's getting railed by Fish and her bar-hopping whiteknight pal as they write defensive twitter posts. More such shit is readily available. Forum wars might get watchable in the next few days.

They obviously didn't hack anyone because federal investigators have had access to the site's inner workings for years and are armed with official documents explaining its intricacies. A hacker would be tracked down in minutes and every /v/ poster knows this. 
Much was made of an IGN user's blog post criticizing Quinn and the industry at large because anons mistook it for an official article. I'm linking it here just to see if it gets taken down in the next few days. I can't think of a more sure-fire indicator of hysteria than private blogs disappearing over this misadventure. some IGN blogger wrote: A few of the reactions were cogent. /v/ wrote: The thread was here. If you want to read it yourself there's realtime archival services but more than likely it'll be wiped from those in a few days max if anyone gets litigious. That's that. Another day, another Phil Fish immolation. Nothing of value was lost.  |
