Forum Overview :: Legend of Grimrock

Grimrock 2 is excellent by Lurker 204958 10/24/2014, 11:20am PDT
I immediately started a new game after finishing it on normal. I had to consult the forums once at the very very end after combing the entire world for a single power gem.

Some tips:
+Firearms are mostly useless thanks to non-scaling damage and rare ammo. You're better off just giving that slot missiles or a reach weapon. You could even have a third melee dude since 2 points in accuracy gives you reach attacks.
+Soft level cap is 15, but realistically you'll hit 13 or 14.
+Light weapons seem to be incredibly underpowered when maxed out, dual wielded, and combined with crit when you compare them to heavy weapons. You can backstab dudes if you freeze them first, but that's unreliable, especially in tight areas or against freeze-immune enemies. Most of the epic weapons are heavy anyway.
+The open world is nice, but for the love of god mark as many things as you can on your map. I think I was tricked by there being crystal, ladder, and chest icons auto-placed, so I figured I could juggle it. I was wrong.
+Feel free to chuck as many poison, fire, and lightning bombs as you want, but save the ice bombs for big dudes since it's a 100% chance to freeze.
+You might have to kerjigger the setup.doc to set an FPS cap if your system is old.
+A lot of the classes are objectively better than others. Barbarians gain more HP and are the only ones that gain strength every level, so by the end they'll completely outclass any knights or fighters you have in survivability and damage.
