Just Cause 3: NO MULTIPLAYER >:( by Rafiki 03/05/2015, 4:37pm PST
Avalanche is hoping the community will patch it in since they don't want to have to bug test it. Psh, whatever.

Here with the worst possible opinion on why it doesn't matter is IGN:

It seems unlikely that Avalanche is working on a multiplayer component for Just Cause 3 — but it doesn’t really fit the general appeal of the franchise. If one player is grappling onto a flying propane cannister, wing-suiting to a satellite dish, and destroying it with C4, the spectacular details of that accomplishment can be lost on another player, who’s off destroying something of their own. Just Cause 3 is full of amazing anecdotes I want to share with people, but I don’t have any interest in sharing in them with another player.

Just Cause is the kind of game where I like to tell stories about the chaos I cause. If there's another player in the game, I could be doing something cool and they might totally miss it if they're off in another part of the map, and then all I could do is tell them a story about it and where's the fun in that? And could you imagine the kind of stories you could tell after chaotic sandbox multiplayer? Probably boring ones, that's for sure.

Just Cause is a very self-centered sort of sandbox game. It’s about your creativity, and what you can pull off. Having another player present could certainly add even more frantic chaos to an imaginative objective, but Just Cause is already an intensely over-the-top game in its own right. At what point does adding more silliness just create obstructive noise in a franchise about hyper-specific moments?

PROBABLY NEVER
