The Republicans put forth dozens of bills to try and repeal Obamacare after the Supreme Court ruled it was constitutional. Now, maybe, 1, 2, 5 or even 10 tries to repeal the act might have been acceptable, but it was like they couldn't stop themselves from trying after constant, repeated failure, like the definition of a fanatic, one who, not achieving his goals, redoubles his efforts.
Note, also, for the Republicans attempts to repeal Obamacare they had absolutely nothing to replace it with to fix the flaws that it attempted to cover: the lifetime caps on benefits (you get cancer or some other really bad disease and you can blow through a million dollar cap fairly quickly); the fact that if you had a pre-existing condition your health insurance would not cover you; and other things, some of which could have been fixed by legislation. But their attempts to demonize Obama - and make no mistake, while I like the man personally, I am no fan of his policies, he's basically on the liberal left similar to Hillary Clinton - meant that they could not do anything that might even give him the slightest scintilla of respect.
A number of problems in getting affordable health care or insurance are the result of previous legislation that could have also been repealed in order to show that there was some alternative being offered for the hated Obamacare that the Republicans wanted to get rid of. But, again, they offered nothing but a return to the old status quo where people lost health insurance when they most badly needed it, and offered nothing in response to fix already existing problems.
Now, granted, if your side is opposed to a particular act it is reasonable to move to try to repeal it. But, when the Republicans tried 54 times over four years (I had to actually look it up, I didn't know it was that many), maybe it's an indication you need to do something else instead of acting like a lunatic and constantly tilting at windmills like Don Quixote.
