| Not exactly a single core athlete, but the 8 cores and 32gb ram let me create a decent number of vms. The nested virt thing was for running OpenStack in a vm.
I am currently drooling over a Dell C6100 on craigslist. 2 hexacore Xeons w/ 48GB DDR3 memory x 4 nodes = 48 physical cores/96 virtual cores w/ 192GB RAM. For $2k. Hnnnnnngh. Less well endowed models can be had for like $700 bucks. Would be noisy as fuck, though. -/ES/- |
