| From a number of videos I've heard several points about this woman, none of them very nice.
1. She put out a crowdsourcing request in order to do 12 videos about "Tropes vs. Women in video games," got $130,000 in funding, then, after more than 2 years has only done 6 of them. 2. Gives an example in one of her videos of how women are considered "disposable" in the video game "Hitman" where it's possible to kill some strippers at a certain point, while ignoring that if you do that you lose points in the game for unnecessary killing of civilians. 3. Complained how she had to break off a supposed bad relationship with her boyfriend, while not mentioning the reason for the problem included that she had sex with five other guys. I also understood the point: the guy who mentioned this wasn't trying to "slut shame" her, (nor am I, I don't think there's anything wrong with someone choosing to have multiple partners) but she's trying to make the problem with her relationship look like it's 100% someone else's fault. 4. When she complained of serious threats made against herself (rape threats, death threats), one man stated in his reviews that the correct response is to contact the FBI. The man who said this was criticized for saying this as if it was an overreaction and yet she did exactly this when cancelling an appearance in Salt Lake City because apparently the authorities felt the threats were not credible and no additional police protection was needed. |
