And what Stew said, though on haptic feedback: it is possible to differentiate one signal from amother, though like fuck would I want to bother while using it for GPS. No, Jonesy, the GPS is for walking and you look at it when it tells you there's a turn up the block.
Watch GPS is for anything but driving/riding a motor vehicle implicitly, in part because the assumption is if you need a lightweight means of accessing GPS you already use it for other shit. On a PHONE, or something. And there's no real difficulty piping the voice instructions to a bluetooth helmet for under a grand - it is essentially possible to create Jarvis from Iron Man this way. A friend of mine did it with enough voice recognition to be able to sit in his houseand run all the appliances or ride his Douchecati chick magnet and control all kinds of crap with an in-helmet mic and speaker. Cost him six grand, a chunk of which went to a clever hacker friend who set up a bunch of fun toy solutions that networked together into a bleeding edge smarthome & virtual assistant that managed to be less annoying and broken than Siri (which is bait for another Google fuckup thread). Can't say the hearing damage is worth it.
Admittedly, you gotta be an experienced rider to even consider that shit I'd imagine. I want a bike and don't want to die, so I'll probably not even have GPS at first. |
