I'm taking Amy Schumer's side on this one.by Mischief Maker 02/03/2016, 10:08pm PST
I've seen Russell Peters do the joke about white people who don't want to describe someone as black. Did he steal from Mad TV? What's more, the Mad TV joke is that the woman can't see the saleswoman and doesn't want to say she's black. In Amy Schumer's bit, there are two black salesmen and she doesn't want to admit she can't tell them apart.
I can't find it right now, but I know I heard an O&A clip where Patrice was saying that the Angry Pirate was an old street joke that he was using for that set, it wasn't his signature bit. I imagine the same thing with Gorilla Mask.
Hiring someone to slap the food out of your mouth joke decades before Kathleen Madigan's special:
How many jokes are there in the world about how dating is ultimately about giving a woman money for sex? This isn't a premise that could occur to two women?
I've heard a million jokes about wives emasculating their husbands to make them sexually unattractive using everything from pink dress shirts to minivans.
Do I really need to explain how it's not impossible for two people to come up with jokes based on common experiences involving bodily fluids?
There are actual thieves like Carlos Mencia and Denis Leary, and then there is occasional parallel thinking. I've seen Patrice O'Neal doing a Sam Kinison bit once (pantomiming weird movements in the bathroom to avoid touching anything with your bare hands because you're afraid of AIDS.) Shall we posthumously strip him of his genius status?
