Holy christ, how can you honestly say the MAD TV bit is only similar in concept? You could have said maybe a staff writer ripped off the skit and Amy was unaware of it, but you're going with the defense that two skits being exact beat for beat copies is just a coincidence? Please link to another instance of this often used "A woman in a clothing store is helped by a black sales person but when she goes to the register she doesn't see them so she must play $10,000 Pyramid with the cashier without saying 'black' and the 3rd hint is their favorite president" joke.
You'd have a stronger case arguing that The Asylum doesn't rip off anyone.
Here's the important thing everyone is missing: Schumer's delivery is worse in every single example.
She even manages to fuck up the MAD TV rip off. The MAD TV version had all the other salespeople be identically dressed women with no unique features on the one who helped her, leaving "black" as the only distinguishing one. Schumer gives the salesperson distinguishing features. "He has thick dark glasses and a green vest, unlike anyone else I am currently seeing in the store right now." Or she could have, I dunno, mentioned his name that he gave her.
How much time did you spent hunting down those links and you fucking missed that? Thank god you're not a real trial lawyer. |
