Well I'll admit, the "wrong batteries' thing is just my hypothesis. I know they were higher amperage or something than the previous batch. (I didn't order em.) Other possible issues: hot swapping batteries on this model: not recommended? Super exciting though, and who doesn't love excitement? Oh yeah, IT Bosses, they don't love excitement. What I find SUPER exciting though is I think the connectors flash melted. They cannot be removed now! And I also made some un-manly noises as I was being frightened by noises/lights.
The sentiment here is a) it's an old appliance, like 10 years or something and b) it ate the previous batteries in under a year. So the thing is probably telling us in subtle sparky ways that it's time to move on.
I'm just a monkey with a "don't feed the sysadmin" hat on, honestly.
