I supervised the connecting by laudablepuss 04/11/2016, 3:00pm PDT
Looked ok . . . it went positive to negative down the line (each battery was really 4, and you had two per tray so 8 in a row). It was kindof idiot proof, but lord knows I like to stress test that belief. My colleague who ostensibly knew more about this thing since he's worked with it for 3 years said it was aok. Much shrugging all around in a suddenly ozoney room ensued.

Good news everybody! A new APC unit is being priced out and will be purchased by the end of the week! Hooray! (Item paid for from the "monkey fuckups" budget allotment? I'm not a manager.)

Oh did I mention I attempted random suicide twice by cutting my wrist during the APC battery saga? First I grew a bizarre 1 inch cut right where they do it in the movies while removing the old batteries -- somehow the stamped metal got me. Then today I slipped with the screw driver and hit myself in almost the exact same spot. No damage this time but wtf is wrong with me. I sysadmined the fuck outta this task, boy howdy.

Stay tuned for what I burn down next week! "Continuous improvement" I call it. *cough*
