Talking points are the creepiest form of propaganda. All you do is repeat the same statement over and over and over again, and not only do people start to believe you, they begin to think your words are actually their own idea.
I'll just leave this here.
You seriously think that anyone who has issues with Sanders and how little he's done in Congress over decades is just mindlessly parroting propaganda? You're half a step away from calling anyone who doesn't support him "sheeple". If you really want to, we could discuss his financial plan, but you already know how many trillions of dollars his plans would cost. Back to your link:
During his 25 years in Congress, Sanders introduced 324 bills, three of which became law. This includes a bill in a Republican Congress naming a post office in Vermont and two more while Democrats had control (one naming another Vermont post office and another increasing veterans’ disability compensation). Clinton, for the record, also passed three bills in eight years.
Tauberer’s research places Sanders at No. 14 in Congress with 90 amendments. The other senator from Vermont, Democrat Patrick Leahy, on the other hand, has passed 226.
And of course, these are "roll call amendments". His record sucks for regular amendments. It's great that he's able to tag on pet projects onto bills that other people crafted. It's not like that's easier that crafting a bill that the other side agrees to and carrying it to the finish line.
That's the fundamental issue. He has no sense of the painful work of compromise that it takes to get bills passed. Even compared to other liberal, outspoken Jewish Congressmen, he falls down flat (Feingold, Frank, Feinstein, Boxer). If any of them were running with similar proposals I'd vote for them in a heartbeat, even though half of them would probably be dead before their term was up. At least I know they'd be progressive in a realistic and financially sound way. Oh well. At least there's Booker, Newsom, Gillibrand, and Harris to look forward to in the 2020s election. Gabbard could be the Sanders for that year.
