Darcos 05/10/2016, 1:49am PDT THE EASY WAY All the characters on this show are stuck spinning their wheels, since the point where they finally get interesting is the point where Gotham ends and Batman begins. All the characters except Baby Selina Kyle, who's already more or less a superhero. Why isn't this a show about Catwoman? Is it because Supergirl does a fraction of the ratings? Okay, that's a pretty good reason. On to Plan B. THE HARD WAY Bruce Wayne dies. Maybe he doesn't really die, maybe he's in Tibet or something, what matters is that everybody thinks he's dead. Devastated by the loss of his Favourite Boy, Jim Gordon finally embraces the darkness with his light (or whatever the fuck illumination metaphor internal struggle we were supposed to care about this season) and becomes The Gray Ghost. Harvey Bullock gets kicked upstairs to take on the traditional Commissioner Gordon role. Bruce, knowing Alfred would be lost without someone to care for, leaves his entire fortune to Selina. She agrees to use her newfound resources to help Gordon get justice for Bruce, on the condition that she also gets to use her old resources - her firm young body parts - as his costumed cohort. I'm not sure if we can put Selina in the Robin outfit (I know in the comics Robin preceded Batman, being the identity young Bruce Wayne adopted to beat up teenage crooks in some probably long deprecated pre-Crisis flashback issues), but the important thing is she stops wearing pants. Now, instead of a show about endless interminable wheelspinning, we have a show about a bloodthirsty pulp vigilante gunslinger and his pantsless underage acrobat sidekick, cold murdering bitches on a weekly basis.
