Jesus Christ, buy another laptop for $200 for porn. What are they paying you with, bananas?
Your IT department doesn't care what porn you're looking at. It's not their job to care, and they're probably looking at it too. The biggest risk to you is that you'll type something in the address bar when someone else is around and it will autocomplete to a porn site or something. Or that you'll hit the back button and go back to porn while someone is watching.
Just use a separate laptop. And while you're at it, use incognito mode so that shit doesn't go into your browser history. Don't ever do anything fishy while the corporate VPN is enabled.
Just remember, you are not anonymous online. Any web site you visit can tell what area you live in, who your internet service provider is, and what operating system you are running. The big advertising networks track you as you make your way from one website to another. If you ever use a google account on a particular computer, it's safe to assume google knows that computer from now on. And google is just one ad network. If someone wants to find you, they probably will. Luckily, you are completely insignificant. |
