British Telecom's suit against Valve by Ice Cream Jonsey 09/01/2016, 10:00am PDT
Holy shit, this is hilarious. I don't know why Blue is referencing Kotaku for Christ's sake, but the rest of the post was " Kotaku UK outlines the various tech patents at the root of the litigation, which relate to deliver messages and content over a network. They also note that the concepts presented are broad enough that BT could (and perhaps will) sue companies like Twitch and YouTube over the same issues."

Delivering messages over a network! In these cases, British Telecom should be forced to prove that they built everything from the unique network protocol for delivery to the language used to "deliver the messages." Oh, you used C? Then fuck off. I don't know what "triple punitive damages" means or even if it's appropriate to give to the party initiating legislation but I feel that it's the sort of thing an angry person would say at this point, so.

Also it's nice to see that Steam's source code is available so they could be extra-sure they are ripping off their software patent.
