Shadowverse
Hearthstone clone. There's more emphasis on board control, and early board control at that. Minions are less cost effective as their mana cost goes up, there's a LOT less board-clearing spells, and a lot less random crap. The main gimmick is "evolving". Each player gets 2-3 evolve points, and can use them at turn 4-5 to give a minions +2/+2 and charge (can only target enemy minions turn they're played). So far seems like a lot more decision making than Hearthstone, where your hand played out rather than the other way around. My only complaint is you can only craft copies of cards you already have. If you haven't gotten a card in a pack yet, you cannot craft it. Better sit back and wait till you're lucky enough to get one. On the plus side, they are very generous with free shit early on. 10 free basic and 10 free expansion packs plus a ton more for finishing the single player component.

Has there been a more disappointing AAA launch than Diablo 3? I was bored to tears the entire Act I playthrough of the Diablo 3 demo. Having a lot more fun with this one. Feels more like an actiony MOBA (Bloodline: Champions). I've read that it gets repetitive later with a ridiculous difficulty curve, but it's $5 and in 2 hours I've gotten way more enjoyment out of shit Diablo 3. |
