History has provided us with countless examples of how easily language can be used to manipulate a population, and what happens when free speech goes unchecked.
There's no way you write a sentence like this, in good faith, after thinking about it even a little bit. Like you'll start thinking and immediately "huh, you know I bet they're going to want at least one example," at which point you either add an example (Iraq war?) or explain why you won't (could encourage retaliation against countries that still practice free speech).
I've never heard of Ricochet dot Media before, and they seem to be having trouble raising $50 000. Canadian! I wouldn't worry too much about their views going mainstream any time soon. In fact, here's a way better article I found there, accusing beloved CBC news anchor Peter Mansbridge of normalizing hate and bigotry:
Of all the news joints, in all the towns, in all the world, she walked into CBC’s The National. The she in question is not, of course, the honey-brown haired, incandescent beauty of Ingrid Bergman, but the blond-haired, pencil-thin visage of the Miss America of hate, Ann Coulter.
It just goes on and on like that. Do you need a press pass to benefit from freedom of the press? I'm pretty sure they don't have a press pass. |
