I became aware of Petit recently when someone in my feed retweeter her and, with a shock, found the above video. To her credit she's an established gaming journalist from Gamespot. That credit starts melting away when you listen to what she has to say, which is Sarkeesian basic bitch observations and shrugging solutions. Anyway, Truth is Good Too. That statement is a slam in as far as many transfolk - who yes deserve acceptance - will set themselves up as opponents of truth, and practitioners of hardball politics. This former reporter for Marketplace got fired after posting an article saying he declared Objectivity Is Dead: I recommend actually watching it but it's a vector of all the bullshit that makes trans politics bankrupt, like: 1. Objectivity as "male-centric" and "whitewashed". 2. He's also opposed to neutrality, but he's fine with "impartiality"? 3. The "it's not my problem" response that you don't realize that I'm male and have to use your bathroom. Trans politics can't and shouldn't succeed when the culture is defined by this kind of thinking. They have more of an uphill climb because you can't hand-waive their life choices like with gays, they need society to play along. But the solutions mostly involve punishing people for relying on their lying eyes and letting their brains calculate the implications of gender being strictly avocational. Also: Obergefell was June 2015, Call Me Caitlyn was literally the following month, which is the kind of thing conservatives have been predicting for years was going to happen once gay marriage passed. Why are they pushing back!
