This is great. Gene Roddenberry turned into a L. Ron Hubbard-lite nutbar and it explains why the first season and a half of TNG ate ass. I kind of think they let Maurice Hurley (the reason Gates McFadden disappeared in Season 2) off easy.
I'm not shocked that Brannon Braga really drank the Kool-Aid and thought that Roddenberry's lame-ass no conflict ideas were great to write around. It gives me a bit of an appreciation for Rick Berman. He's still a son of a bitch for Voyager though.
