Many guitar stores got tired of customers coming in and practicing one particular song to try out a guitar they were interested in. so they would post a sign on the wall instructing people not to play that song, the song, of course, being Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven." Guitar stores would have a sign on the wall near their instruments saying "No Stairway to Heaven". This was even pointed out in the movie "Wayne's World" where a musical instrument store store had a "NO STAIRWAY" sign. These signs remained in stores throughout the 1990s and on into the 2000s.
So the reference isn't to not include say, YouTube performances of Stairway to Heaven here, but to musical instrument stores requesting customers not to play that song on the store merchandise because it was happening so often it became annoying.
