Hi,
How do I become a taxi driver? I want to drive a cab once or twice a week mainly for the novelty of it. Do the cab companies hire me then send me for training or licensing or do I get licensed then work for a cab company?
Is it a lucrative job? I heard that you lease the cab for the shift and pay a brokerage fee (for getting radio calls if not driving an independed taxi), buy fuel and just take fares. As long as I make some money, its all good I guess. I like driving and seeing new places, meeting new people, and being out at night.
I've had my drivers license for 11 yrs now, and don't have any violations. I love full size rear wheel drive cars (my first car was a used police car). I also have a "Blue Card" (Toronto Police Driver Certificate) that I got when I use to drive/work as a high school intern with the Police.
FBI Agent Jim Douglas, the head of the FBI's Serial Crimes Unit, wrote several books on serial killers. In Mindhunter, he lists several traits/behaviors common among serial killers. Among those traits: a past desire to get into the military or law enforcement, and driving decommissioned military or law enforcement vehicles (the Atlanta Child Murderer drove a decomm'ed police cruiser). Then there's four20's whole "women are wholeseome" jag that just further creeps me out.
I just discovered, thanks to social media, that Tim Rogers now drives a decommissioned police car.
Also, do you think four20 drives for Uber now? |
