No, I mean, what did he do? What is he guilty of? I get that firing the FBI Director is a poor decision, but I am not aware of the crime Trump committed.

It's a sign he might have actually collaborated with the Russians after all. He fires Comey out of the blue, claiming it was because of his handling of Clinton's email probe last year, hours after CNN gets word that there are subpoenas in the Russia probe. The fucking letter he sent to Comey says "thank you for informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation".

The Russia investigation will continue, but under a new Trump appointee, approved by a Republican Senate. And some journos are citing bureau sources who say they think Trump is angling to appoint someone who will close the probe. Comey, by comparison, doesn't back down.

Even if they hire a special prosecutor, he can (if Twitter serves) apparently fire that person too. And don't forget how weird he was on Twitter around the Sally Yates questioning - not just the tweets but changing the header image with a quote from Clapper saying there's no evidence connecting Trump to Russia.

It's being compared to Nixon's Saturday Night Massacre. I wish I knew more about politics to put it in perspective, but it's certainly the craziest thing to happen since the travel ban.
