It's also very well moderated, in the sense that a steak made out of charcoal is very well done, so trying to sneak in as much racism and sexism and passive aggression as you can becomes a game in and of itself. Here's a recent post where I call the chairman of the FCC a brownface. Or more accurately, I accuse someone else of calling him a brownface, which is always a safe strategy. And just to add an extra arm's length between me and culpability, I decide to speak English as a second language. You can't come down too hard on a guy from whichever country still calls them brownfaces!
Here's one about babies.
Here's one about Legos.
Here's a picture I drew of M. Night Shyamalan.
It's also good because you can make a thread about whichever old game you just played and odds are someone who worked on it will show up. Here's an admittedly worthless post from today, by one of the guys who ported Quake II to Playstation. Notice how it's post #147 in the thread, and still the first one that even comes CLOSE to being of interest to anyone, anywhere, ever. It's not as bad as that sounds though because it's also more or less the first post to be more than a sentence long. If nothing else, GAF will make you an Olympic-class skimmer. |
