| Another King of Kong coattail documentary about the same people and subject.
This one tries too hard all the way through. I think there were 2 honest to god comedic record scratches. The lowpoints are the Family Guy flash animations they use rather than live footage. Luckily, the broken human record chasers are interesting enough to carry the whole thing on their own in spite of the hacky filmmaker. Nibbler champion and accolades make big deal out of how he was the first to score a billion points in any game with nobody mentioning how arbitrary a milestone that is. Some story on how a kid from Italy claimed to have beaten his score in 1984 but no one verified it. I guess there's a rematch brewing but the filmmaker completely bungles the flow. If you liked Chasing Ghosts despite the lack of quality narrative that King of Kong had, you'll enjoy this. Just power through the cringe Flash animations. |
