It's baffling to think about how MMO dev works anymore. ESO was rolling out 36 gigabyte patches because they didn't know how to patch their game properly. Main Story Quest locking of content is bad, but there's no reasons for them to have these instance issues, they had preorder numbers and they had playerbase numbers, they don't call it computer science because of all the guess work!
I guess they just didn't have anyone who could look at things and said, hey maybe we should do a stress test. I mean this is not a huge game and has had cross server instancing for a long time. I just don't understand what's the issue, unless it just was tons of bots tying up instances the first two days and they just went in and nuked them all. |
