I've not seen dialog this overstuffed with one-liners since "Batman and Robin" which makes me feel like there's an intentional level of irony that's going over my head.
I only read a couple archie comics when I was a kid, is this all just supposed to ride on the cognitive dissonance of wholesome Archie characters engaged in a sordid Twin Peaks-esque soap opera? Didn't Adult Swim already beat that horse to death more than a decade ago?
Although as someone who once read the Comics Curmudgeon regularly, there's something poetic that a comic he regularly joked must have been written by a computer is now a TV show literally designed by an AI algorithm. |
