Protagonist in Titan was a doofus, but at least a vengeance driven doofus. I'll say at least Sidonia doesn't have a single internal monologue. Every mech action scene is aborted before it even starts when a panicking woman screws it up for the men. There was more action and splattering bodies with the high-G turn than there has been in any fight scene. How many wacky romantic comedy misunderstandings can we expect with the (literally) androgynous love interest? Totally necessary plot scenes of teenage girls getting off on self-inserting catheters. This is art! ART! It's almost amazing how the show breaks its own logic multiple times each episode. 8 mechs sent out for a mining mission, only 4 sent to stop the giant monster. The first officer talking about how there's a shortage of pilots because they're losing them too fast right after they explain a bunch of times that there hasn't been an alien or battle in a hundred years. All battle information classified from cadets, cut straight to them gathered to watch live battle footage broadcast to them. Why does every single anime in history have to have a character stricken with polyphagia?
