| If offends and is disliked by all the right people. Look at this humorless twat at the AV Club go "reeeee" because the animation of something that could mostly work as a radio serial isn't as good as fucking Archer of all shows. Having read the opinions of others elsewhere, Pacific Heat is a very easy show to dislike, it seems. But let's get something straight about Archer - how many episodes begin with H. Jon just screaming "Lana" at the top of his lungs. 3? 5? 12? How many times does Archer grind to an absolute halt because the writers want to be absolutely sure that you caught the extremely clever joke they just made and therefore have H. Jon explain it to you?
Pacific Heat doesn't do that. Pacific Heat is about four idiots trying to solve crimes. Unlike Archer (which it is always compared to, and I feel bad for doing it here) they don't do so with contempt for each other, they don't hate each other, they don't spend half the episode literally screaming at something and I love that it is a unique take on the "people trapped in a room" style of sit-com. I was probably a little hard on that AV Club review, I mean, sure, let's dig into the comments and, -- eggs Zach and Coke in reply to eggs All the right people. Pacific Heat wouldn't have pivoted to an aerialdenialweapons.com joke either, they would have barreled on through and had two more jokes in that space. ICJ |
