The last time I saw "generally suspicious things" happening with my PC, it turned out to be a memory issue. it happened at work, actually... things that succeeded on other people's machines would fail on mine, with no really useful error messages. It was a mystery, until I tested the memory.

I know you said earlier in the thread that you tested the memory using the BIOS. But BIOS programmers are usually pretty bad at their jobs. You might try downloading a real memory check tool like MemCheck86, where you boot it from a CD and it tests the whole memory for you several times over.


Does this seem like a my GPU is the culprit?


I mean it's worth trying. Can you run with on-board video and see if the problem goes away?

Flaky behavior also often results from some kind of overheating problem. Check the temperatures on everything.
