Re: I need advice regarding a terminally ill family member by Mischief Maker 03/08/2018, 11:00pm PST
I've never been in a life support situation, but it's always been my understanding that when loved ones come to the bedside of a dying family member, it's to provide the dying person comfort and validation in their final moments. The wake and funeral are for the survivors. So if your grandmother is not going to be conscious of the people in the room, it may not be worth the effort to draw it out until the 30th.

It's also possible that having to pull the plug on his mother may be so emotionally wrought for your father that any advice you had to offer would have been rejected at that moment, so don't take it personally.

My condolences.
