You can barely take care of yourself, much less another living being. Your apartment is a disgusting mess, barely safe for you and certainly not for Runner. Seriously, it's bad for cats to live in filth. All of the filth in your place from pee splashes to whatever crap from outside that your wheels bring in, all of it ends up in Runners mouth as he cleans himself everyday. If an extra $30/month for cat food is a hardship then what on earth are you going to do when Runner needs to go to the vet for a checkup ($180) or when he gets sick ($270) or gets old (many $1000's). What happens if he outlives you?
Runner is young enough that he would absolutely get picked up from one of those "no kill" shelters, I'm sure there's one within rolling/bus/pedicab range. |
