My Internet and TV service from Comcast Xfinity is advertised at $79 a month but becomes $171 after all equipment charges, taxes and fees are applied.
However, switching to Verison FIOS Internet with Dish Network satellite service ordered directly from each drops this by about $50 a month.
Coincidentally, both agreed to come out and install the service June 5, Verizon in the morning, Dish in the afternoon. They ended up overlapping a bit.
The dish is a reasonable-sized ("pizza box size") receiver unit parked on the grass in front if the driveway.
I did not get to do a Speedtest while both Internet services were active but I suspect the new service is anywhere from 50% to 3x faster.
Dish Network has so many channels I can't keep up with it. It also includes built-in DVR. |
