I spent an entire evening attempting to get Windows 7 - software that I paid a great deal of money for - onto a new hard drive, as I am making a new computer.
They don't let you download the Windows 7 iso. I had to get it from the Internet Archive. Oh, I had it on DVD but the motherboard I bought doesn't support IDE... and that's the only DVD-ROM I have. So, I downloaded the Windows 7 iso and used a program to make it bootable onto USB. They never updated the Windows 7 iso to work with USB 3.0. No one gave a shit at Microsoft, nobody said, "Hey, the whole reason this exists is so that people can put it on new systems." They just took it offline. I hate everything about everything they choose to be.
I lost an evening on it and I just can't go round and round with this shit any more, so I'm putting 10 on. I already hate it.
Question for anyone out there - I am going to go the route of installing Windows 10 Pro by giving my Windows 7 key. Will my copy of Windows 7 still work? Or do these fucks send a kill signal to Windows 7 afterwards?
