It's like Jagged Alliance meets FTL in an Indiana Jones-esque setting.

Grid-based tactical combat with a heavy emphasis on cover and flanking because any attack from an unobstructed angle has a 100% hit chance. Battlefields are mostly randomly generated.

I'm really enjoying it so far, but what might spoil it later on is the persistent character advancement. You keep all your XP and equipment between runs, including loose items so for example you can pick up a really nice shotgun that none of your dudes can use but after you die or when the mission ends you can give that shotgun to a guy who was on the sidelines. It's not bothering me now but it might fuck things up.

It's way more of a system hog than you'd expect because it has this fancy voxel-based lighting and shadow system that's pretty nifty to watch when you're resting at a location and the sun rises and sets in fast forward.

And you get to brain Nazis with U-locks!
