Worm, you ignorant slut. Your 80s sidescrollers are all fucking gay because you're always a ship. Why can't I fly an X-Man or Tina Turner or a VW minibus? You see, FPS games, as the name implies, are about shooting things from a first person perspective. Who shoots things? SOLDIERS! Funny, that.
-/ES/- I'd like to see a few more FPSs like Hexen or Thief. Hexen was more doom with Wands but Thief did things different. Enemy Territory didn't do much different than TFC. Is it so terrible that I wanted to sit down play the game and not immediately suffer deja vu? The game just took TFC and did things a bit different. So do the majority of SHMUP games ... that doesn't make them good. Some games like Radio Zonde not only do not require you pilot a ship but break away from the power up scheme instead requiring you to slow down bullets and scratch at the same time to get a large point total. ET just seems to be a mediocre free game. |
