WHO ALLOWED THEM TO GO TO THE SAME BUILDING AS ME?
I don't like talking about how I did such hard work in school and wow and I was there doing work. I don't know how many people don't notice that (apparently a lot since livejournal is at least 40% talking about what boring shit they did in school that day).
There's the retarded guy about my age, Greg, in my pharmacology class (which is not specifically for transcription, just the medical program). I mentioned him before once where he was shaking his leg so much under the table that the whole table was like vibrating, and no one wanted to say anything to him because of course it's impolite and boo hoo and good for him and he's special.
Anyway, he's been asking too many questions from day 1, but today the teacher was really sick of it, I thought. She didn't flip out, but holy shit he wouldn't shut up, he kept trying to ask shit that wasn't important, like when the teacher said that aged cheese can counteract MAO inhibitors, he was like HOW AGED DOES THE CHEESE HAVE TO BE TO BE AGED while the teacher is still talking. He asked it like 3 times I think, and since the teacher would keep talking since she was, you know, instructing the class, his voice would trail off to nothing by the end of his question. Eventually she just had to say "not now Greg." EXPLAIN TO HIM AS YOU WOULD A CHILD
I sit behind him and it's kind of scary to see him put his head down while the teacher is talking and his leg constantly shaking like he has Parkinson's or something, along with the rocking back and forth in the mental patient way you see with all retards. He talks with a slurry speech impediment, and looks like a normal ultra dork on the outside, some kid who would go home and play Dungeons and Dragons. The difference being this kid isn't going to grow up to become some Bill Gates or anything.
It's sad because I'm sure his parent(s) were so like OH OF COURSE YOU CAN GO TO COLLEGE WE SUPPORT YOU, and he might've been like "I WANT TO GO TO HARVARD" or something and the parents were like "we'll see" and just signed him up for community college without telling him, just to try to sidestep the whole disappointment thing, even though they're still (supposedly) proud of how smart he is. Anyway, that's just conjecture. :(
The teacher used the word "extrapolate" today, just talking about some topic, and he actually asked "WHAT'S EXTRAPOLATE" in his biggest droolingest "BLUHHHHH DUH" voice. So teacher lady told him to look it up, because "if I tell you you won't learn it, but if you write it down and look it up yourself, you will." But he wouldn't stop, and said "why won't you just tell me?" I don't know if he was trying to be some kind of Billy Bats or if he's really that dumb, because I thought he was "higher functioning" than that (much like a machine, since we all know that retards aren't humans).
We were going over last week's test earlier, and there was a question about which vegetable was used in estrogen hormone replacement therapy, the answer being "yams." He kept going like, "buhhht thattsf not in duhh book," or something about it not being in chapter's 1 through 5 which is what the test said it covered, only stuff in chapter's 1 through 5. I found the answer on page 8, just as I did when I was doing the (open book) test. Page 8 was already chapter 2, that's how small the early chapters are.
While still going through the test, the teacher pointed out one of her joke answers for a multiple choice thing, about what medicine would be best taken under the tongue (sublingually), the answer being nitroglycerine, and her joke answer was "Anusol." And people were like "ahahaha" and stuff, but duder, the only other guy in the class, was still being himself, which his parents probably should've tried to crush (along with his ambitions of further schooling), and after asking what Anusol is (of course) actually asked why you wouldn't want to take Anusol orally. You could see everyone's tolerance starting to wear. I think at that point or another point the class was laughing at him.
At the very end of class, the teacher went over some book questions, and some involved something probably based off a real medical case (so she said). The thing was about an old woman, like 78 or something, who was on all these medications, and then it lists like 20 medications, for real. A few (normal) people in class mentioned how they know a few people who are that old and are way overmedicated in this way but you can't really do anything about it, and real discussion came from this subject. Meanwhile, Greg actually said about 5 times over 10 minutes while going through the list, "THAT WOMAN IS WORSE THAN A VEGETABLE." And that "THE BOOK IS PROBABLY WRONG SHE'S PROBABLY DEAD," followed by him laughing at himself for being such a class clown ahahaha! He had one single joke that he didn't repeat, about how the woman should instead be cryogenically frozen (and then mumbled "or die"), followed immediately by the vegetable line again. The courtesy laughter was minimal and mostly people tried to ignore him or be like, "yeah................................ yeah." He also joked about how he was on 7 kinds of drugs. And the teacher said, "well sometimes it's necessary." Yeah I bet it is.
That's really the only hard thing about the class is knowing that at some point he's going to fail to shut up. Other than that it's a fine class. There's like 10 more weeks left of the class, though, and I figure that at some point the teacher is just going to have to shut him down hard and break his spirit in 10 words or less so that he will shut up for good.
On a barely related note of people who are stupid beyond their control, after class I walked out the door to hang out in the fresh air waiting for Jso to show up in the Jew truck. There was a very short (like as short as me), fat, white, potato-shaped woman talking about how white people are the minority working at Henry Ford Hospital these days, and how she drove up there. Either working or just going there. And at first I thought she was just making a point about how there's lots of Indians living in the area, which is pretty obvious now anyway. But then she was like, "it scared the shit out of me because there were so many black people there," and mentioned how she went there in a $30,000 car, and was like, "okay where's the Club," ahahahaha and then talked about how many robberies there are in the area. So clearly she wasn't just pointing out the obviousness of how many Indians live here. The other woman she was talking to wasn't saying anything, probably just waiting to finish her cigarette and leave. I could've told her "yeah and also black people become invisible at night too." But I didn't really want to throw out my own jokes after 2 hours of Greg's unique stylings of humor. :(
The end. :(
