| Granted I'm a little behind on the whole fighting game thing, but if the new Mortal Kombat games are some of the simpler ones, then fuuuuuck.
Why can't every fighting game adopt smash's control scheme: the same simple commands for each characters moves (down + B, left + B, etc.)? Is it really more strategic and DEEP to require memorizing 5 step moves that are completely different for each character? Is it to inflate the value of bragging rights when you master a character? I've had more fun in screwing around with the Capcom vs. games for 20 minutes randomly pushing buttons and watching over the top attacks than in all thinking man's non-smash fighting games since the late 90's. |
