Mischief Maker's Top 100 indie games by Mischief Shai-hulud 01/21/2008, 5:43pm PST Here's a list of 100 indie games that I've enjoyed. No, I never have played Dwarf Fortress, but here's a link to a new Graphical Frontend. I've tried to spread different genres more evenly around in the list so take the order as more of a general idea of how good they are than an absolute win/lose situation. Even the lowest ranking are worth a look. This list will include freeware games, shareware games, jap indie import games, mods, and works in progress (WIP). It does not include flash games. For old Dos games, I suggest using Dos Box. Some of these games come in .rar or .lzh format and if you can't open them, try the freeware 7-Zip. Some of these games are japanese and need to be downloaded through a website called Vector. Here's a handy-dandy graphical guide to navigating that site. Finally, this list is not exhaustive and will undoubtably be out-of-date by the end of the week. Especially with engines like Game Maker available for non-programmers, incredibly awesome games are threatening to come out every day. With all that out of the way, let's get on with the list!
