I thought the retcon of the midichlorions was going to be insulting and annoying but instead it was handled surprisingly well and is actually really interesting

perhaps the reason why I don't hate any of the star wars prequels has to do with the use of human characters in conjunction with the CGI robots. in the original trilogy the humans are there to be purposelessly put in a trash compactor and then rescued by the droids, in these movies it's the humans who are helping just as much to save the world and defeat evil. the last act of the movie, where the bad guy robots with the really stupid and obvious name set up their own evil fortress/dictatorship on naboo and so it's sort of a guerrilla war, everything pretty much fits together as it should without getting too confusing.

the movie isn't perfect and I don't blame anyone who can't find a way to enjoy it. the problem is when they say obviously stupid or wrong shit like "this is the worst movie in the history of movies" or "the empire strikes back was so much better than these george lucas movies" you are provably wrong and have bad taste if you actually think that. at worst these movies are stupid childrens action movie dreck, at best they are a perfectly serviceable series of CGI robot fights starring lots of explosions, but no one except for me is actually smart enough or has enough personal integrity to admit these truths, and instead falls back onto group think

today. I'm still downloading it, but I hate it already. I've known someone who's had the beta for a while now, and they told me it's still click to move / click to attack. I hate that so much, because whenever I desperately need to do one or the other I accidentally get the opposite and die. Why can't they at least give the option of movement keys, as if it's going to fuck up their precious lore or make it not Diablo. Probably too busy making attunement quest chains and multiplayer bosses that require impossible precision.

A wife went on trial today accused of goading her lover into killing her husband to avoid an expensive custody battle over their young children.

Morgan Marie Mengel, 35, convinced 21-year-old Stephen Shappell to take part in her alleged murder plot to batter Kevin Mengel, 34, to death with a shovel in Chester County, Philadelphia.

The jury will then hear how Mengel tried to persuade her lover to take the full blame for the murder by pretending she had given birth to his twins while in prison.

Prosecutors plan to introduce letters in which Mengel allegedly asked Shappell to exonerate her from the murder as she had to bring up their children.

Mengel described her labour and pregnancy and even the infants weight and eye colour to Shappell in a bid to convince him not to implicate her in her husband's murder.

Shappell is set to be the star prosecution witness having already pleaded guilty to murder.

Mengel and Shappell started their affair after having met at the landscaping business Morgan ran with her husband.

The summary: The two men had three people bound and gagged, lying on the ground in a home invasion. Having gotten all their valuables, and lying there helpless, he shot them. One of them wasn't killed but pretended to be. His partner then came by and put a bullet into the back of the heads of each of the three victims, blowing their brains all over the floor, execution style. We only know about it because of the security video. We know what happened because two of the victims had two bullets in them.

The other video shows how a man drove off another home invasion because he was armed.

I was sickened and disgusted by the senseless and brutal murder of helpless people.

The guy who runs this gun training company refers to the two videos as "The Sitting Duck and the Sentinel."
