Peter Molyneux's The Movies

It's pretty good!
It starts off amazingly, with a series of well strung together action incidents and creepy exposition. Sure they're disarming bombs, but none of them boil down to "WHICH WIRE DO I CUT??? GGGGG" nonsense. Instead they play off the paranoia of being in an environment where a guy on a roof with a cell phone can get everyone killed in a heartbeat. The texture and camerawork of the movie is extraordinary, hitting a documentary feel without wildly flailing the camera around whenever something actually happens. The idea of having a squad of people doing crazy things getting a new squad member who is legitimately crazy is played out well for the first hour or so, but doesn't really wind up as satisfying or insightful as you'd like given the incredible intensity and promise of the first few encounters with bombs & badguys. Nevertheless, it's absolutely one of the best contemporary war movies out there, and I'd recommend it to anyone simply because framing most of the action around bomb defusal scenarios turns out to be surprisingly thrilling.
