Re: ...oh dear.

In the UAE, they complain about "the Arabs" coming over and taking "Emirati" jobs. The Saudi's are constantly bitching about the costs of keeping "the Arabs" out of their Southern and Northern borders. Bahraini's criticize "the Arabs" for not being able to control themselves on the weekends. I don't think I've found one country in the Middle East that considers themselves "Arab". But, if a Saudi isn't an Arab, then what the fuck is an Arab? Let me help you and them: You're Arab if you: 1. have brown skin and 2. are Mulsim and 3. understand Arabic and 4. live in the Middle East So Turks ARE Arabs. By what fucked definition are they not?
Technically, I think Arabs are iranians (in the sense of indo-europeans, not in the sense of, from Iran) and turks are . . . not. Altaic peoples.
No, Iranians are Persians, and calling Persians Arabs will insult both parties - something like saying Japanese people are Chinese and vice versa. The turkish language is specifically Altaic. There's some argument the genetics. Best to say that Turks are Turkish. Also by QB's stupid argument, most Indonesians working as domestic servants in the Middle East are Arabs, a distinction that Arabs would find amusing and the servants would find incriminating.
My professor used iranian as a synonym for Indo-European. I explained that above, without attribution. So, you're agreeing with me, since Persinas are Indo-Europeans also.
My professor used iranian as a synonym for Indo-European.
