Re: two more! (finally saw this)
Seriously:
The alien's top secret biological weapon that assimilates humans is ALSO the fuel for the ship?
This is huge! And confusing. Wikus gets sprayed by fuel, so he transforms? And thennnnn it turns out that the evil corporation already has plans for what to do when this happens? It seemed that Wikus' affliction was something they understood and had maybe even caused in other people. They've been trying to engineer soldiers who can use alien weapons... and then the head of their own alien relocation project touches alien fuel, and becomes able to use alien weapons? Were they just going for a cheesy superhero origin story, or did this make sense in some realistic way? Supposing anybody at all had to get turned into an alien, why was it the head of the alien relocation project? By what crazy coincidence did he happen to be the one to bring the evacuation form to Christopher's house? I guess the only reason for him to have been in charge was to justify the documentary footage on him, but the movie didn't rely on the documentary device very heavily anyway. And... Wikus arrives just as Christopher is finishing a twenty-year effort. Christopher doesn't get one more day. Not even ten more minutes. Okay yeah this is a superhero/action-thriller story. So why wasn't it slick and fun like Iron Man? That movie didn't make any sense either, but it was pretty cool! Well, this one is pretty cool too. Aliens! Whose battle suits and spaceship seats neatly fit humans for some reason.
