A moment of drama
So, whatever, I'll never be able to keep telling animu drama stories if I try to surgically remove all evidence of my skin in the game. And I must tell animu drama stories somewhere or else I will break down and scream at everyone. I run a community for animu drama. The good news! It is the largest community on the faggoty journal service that it's hosted on. The bad news! That journal service isn't livejournal. In fact the service is invite-only. Because I am a fucking boss, the service admins have given me all kinds of toys for expanding their horizons, one of which is a batch of several hundred invite codes to set up journals on this off-brand service. Since another one of the toys they gave me was an admin tool to make as many accounts as I want for other people, I don't really need the invite codes for my stupid community. So I've been handing them out like candy on some of the more visible livejournal animu drama communities. One of these communities is a place called QV. So there I am, drinking and having a good time on a Saturday night, and apparently I am too stupid to have a good time because I dared to look at a computer screen to see what's up in the comm chat. And in the comm chat, one of my deputy mods (Otaku) is talking about how the QV mods asked him to tell me to stop posting invite codes in their community. And dep mod 1 starts talking to dep mod 2 (Hurf Durf) about how and where and when I should post codes. And I am all fucking christ, you people never do anything but gossip anyway So I put down my vase of captain morgan's and composed a brief and polite message to the QV mods, and ten minutes later I received a reply, and then I made a critical error. I said anything at all about it to a room full of drama whores.

NDD: Well that makes me wonderfully enraged. Of my own volition, taking time out of my own Saturday night partying, I send the qv mods a polite note saying "sorry for using your comm for off-topic invite posting, it will stop right away." and I get a note back saying... "please stop using our comm for invite posting, it's off-topic" Only useful member of comm: Fuck the QV mods. NDD: They're just blathering the pre-fab reasoning that they meant to send before I stole a march on them, I'm sure NDD: but it's an additional layer of rudeness that makes me twitch with fury Otaku: Maybe they haven't received the PM yet. NDD: It was a post on their suggestions box. And now I will take a custard out of the oven and get back to drinking. Otaku: NDD, um. I know the person who sent you the PM. In fact, I have an AIM window open with her right now. :X NDD: Otaku, I will say this as delicately as possible in deference to everyone's weaknesses: Otaku: Believe me when I say that she didn't mean ill with it. They composed the note as long ago as yesterday, and she in fact asked me if I could poke you about it back then. NDD: I take my suggestions in multiple layers of obliqueness, and my requests straight up. I am greatly angered to have been gone around, and even more angry that I was handed an effective form letter. The main thrust of my anger is my own embarassment at my own trespass on the QV mods hospitality, but I wish they had been a little more direct with me. And sooner. NDD: I'm not a child, and I wouldn't have been pissed at all if they had just told me "cut it out" as soon as they thought of it. But this chinese whispers business, these form letters, all this INDIRECT BULLSHIT NDD: it only compounds my embarassment Otaku: No, they asked me to bring this up with you because I'm a friend to both you and them, and they wanted to settle this quietly and on a personal basis. Otaku: They asked a favor from me as a friend. NDD: Not to put a fine point on it, Otaku, but if that was the case NDD: why did chat hear about it before NDD did. Otaku: Because I poked you multiple times over the last day. Otaku: Just check your PMs and check the mod chat. Otaku: I tried to check if you're online at least three times. NDD: I see pokes, but nothing but pokes. You might have told me the rest, or you might have kept it to yourself until I showed up. Or whatever, at this point it's all a done deal. NDD: Hopefully tomorrow none of it will matter any more. NDD: I'm going to take my custard out of the oven NDD: Good night, guys. Hurf Durf: ....good night, NDD Otaku: ...oh, you know what, screw this. (10:31:23 PM) Otaku: I'm not about to sit here for an entire day, waiting for you to show up so I can get this out of the way, then try my best to deal with this entire mess so both you and my other friends are happy, only to be exploded at. (3:04:44 AM) Otaku: left the room.

The technical term for this is a "flounce." It is the traditional animu drama response to ever being told you have done something wrong, ever, no matter how much it is your fault exclusively. Fortunately I was off doing nice things with a nice girl at the time, so I didn't have to put up with that shameless asspat bait. Also YES I KNOW I am also a drama whore, but a little fucking classier than all this. Anyway don't ask questions, just enjoy the fruits of my belaboring.
