it sounds like the concept would be boring but it's not BECAUSE
delicious chicken sandwich and a fountain dreenk anyway they really do a great job covering every imaginable aspect of text adventures, altho they didn't go over MUDs as much which is what I have the most experience with. then again they basically say anyone who has the internet is spending most of their time reading in the first place so yea maybe I do have more xp with texty texts. the whole thing begins with the guy who invented the first computer based text adventure (simply called "adventure") which he based off his real life explorations of an extremely complex series of caves which he would chart and crawl around in having fun with his family. they do also go into a few reasons why text adventures sucked, like the mazes and how the puzzles got tiresome and etc but they also do explain the strengths of text adventures and why people still find them fun today. my only question for these people who want to make a living writing text stories and creating puzzles for gamers to solve, they could do that in most video games being developed nowadays, especially a lot of indie games or maybe even some half life 2 mods.
