But, you will more than likely have more than enough "guild shields" (read: xp points) to unlock just about every one. Your only real choice is that you might have to delay opening a chest until after doing a quest or two. When you start you get one of each weapon type (sword, hammer, pistol, rifle), and there are 2 more of each type you can buy (plus 1 more of each later on). I did find one pistol in a treasure chest - but it was essentially part of a quest - so maybe there are more? The non-default weapons actually have one neat feature - each one has three enhancements that you can unlock by completing their requirements. E.g. I had a hammer that gained extra fire damage if I killed 150 people with a fire spell. Which helps you change up your combat techniques when you are trying to unlock the enhancements. Which is neat. So, the first half is just stripped down Fable-lite, the second half - after you become king - is where the game really opens up, right? FUCKING WRONG. --- SOME SPOILERS HERE BUT WHO CARES BECAUSE YOU SHOULDN'T BOTHER WITH THIS GAME --- You have one year to raise millions of gold to fight off the big bad that is coming. So being king means you sit on the throne and are given two options. One is good, but costs money, and one is evil, but raises money. That's it. No other consequences. Saving the orphans will cost 50,0000, or we can burn them in the furnace and make 200,000. And then occasionally you get a quest where you can run around and do something besides pressing X for evil or A for good. But they feel ridiculous and tacked on - why am I THE FUCKING KING running out to stop a robbery in tavern? Don't I have guards for that shit? And then all of the sudden it just ends. The game said I had over 200 days left in the year to make money, and I'd been looting the fuck out of the treasury and buying up every piece of real estate for the rent moneys. I was just about a million shy of what it said I needed. And then suddenly I got my evil wings and the game cut to my butler saying "hey, it's been a year!" And the game didn't even give me chance to transfer money back to the treasury. Fucking lame. Then you run out and have the shortest, most boring end battle ever - run through one section of the city killing everything, and then kill the (super-easy) big bad. The end result of not having enough money is that it shows the ghost silhouette of your friends (because I guess they died somewhere in the battle), instead of their normal model when it shows them all lined up for the credits. The whole thing feels rushed and half finished.[/quote]
