Re: Lets compare

After 7 months (2 months for the Squat/Deadlift), here's where I'm at: Chin-Ups: I can do a few Pull-Ups: No =( I'm trying to find a suitable exercise that strengthens the parts used in a pull-up but other than doing a half-assed one I don't know any. Opinions are mixed about the pull-down machine but I do 195 on it. Bench Press: 3x8: 200 1RM: 245 Squat: 3x8: 225 1RM: Untested Deadlift: 1x5: 225 1RM: Untested (I am lazy and generally just pull the squat bar off the rack and set it on the ground, I could probably take it higher) Dumbbell Curl: 3x8: 45 lbs Machine Preachers Curl: 3x8: 120 (this is really hard on my forearm joints so I switched to overhead cables) Machine Row: 3x8: 250 Vertical/Military Press: 3x8: 105 Dips: I can do a few of these at my body weight, don't really practice it much though Power Cleans: Also don't like to do these too much, but I can jerk 135 off the ground without too much issue.
I'll check tomorrow, but I think... probably the only places where I can hope to compete right now are military press, deadlift, and dip. Press and deadlift I'm about even, maybe a hair up on press. Dips - I rep 170 right now which is haha not bodyweight, so to speak. Lat pulldown - I don't care if the haters in this thread are hating, I enjoy doing this so I never skip it. Rep 165, max 210. My fragile t-rex biceps would manage maybe a single dumbbell curl at 45-50 and I'd be sore for a week afterwards. Usually I will do 3x5 at 15 and 2x5 at 25. The idea of doing even a single chin-up makes my entire upper body wither in fear. Pull-ups look like witch magic. I'd brag more about easily blowing out the max weight (315) on the hip machines but it appears that everyone thinks those are a joke. OTOH I've never seen anyone else in the gym get anywhere near that, not even the HOO-AH!!! total body workout types. SO I AM PROUD OF IT, ME.
