I love love love Netflix Instant (micro capsule reviews)
Things I have watched recently: Gates of Heaven This is an Errol Morris doc that is really famous n shit but I never saw it in any video store. But Netflix instant has it, and everybody should go watch it right now. It's about pet cemeteries, kind of. Not really. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of etc I expected to hate this because I hate musicals, but I watched it out of an ever-diminishing loyalty to Tim Burton based on some 90s movies that in retrospect I don't really like anymore either. It surprised me in that the music and songs are really pretty amazingly awesome (especially Mrs Lovett's songs), and I ended up disliking the movie because Burton's production makes it way, way too sterile and lifeless. Also: neither Johnny Depp nor Helena Bonham Carter knew how to sing before doing the movie; Helena Bonham Carter's ability to learn how to sing in this movie kicks the shit out of Johnny Depp's ability to learn how to sing in this movie. Columbo RIP Peter Falk! Mission: Impossible (original series) This originally starred a young version of Law and Order's Adam Schiff! Kick Ass Meh. It's not boring, that's good. It's not in my top 5 superhero movies, which is a dismal place to be, because I can't think of 5 good superhero movies. I'll give it a 3/5 as a superhero movies, which is a 1.5/5 on the global scale. The Keep Holy shit! This movie is crazy. I can't it took me this long to getting around to seeing it. Any fans of shlocky horror should check it out immediately. The box blurb doesn't EVEN mention that The Keep features a young Ian McKellan making a deal with the devil to fuck up some Nazis. The devil being a guy with flashlight eyes in his spooky devil mask. also, Netflix Instant has like a million MST3K episodes, in case you're ever in a mood for those.
