You're a Denver fan. The defense is as good as anyone's, but your team needs to rebuild its offense. They basically tanked the season by putting a fullback in at qb. For some insane reason the fullback avoids interceptions long enough to let the field goal kicker win him a couple games, both dropping your draft position and putting management in a rough spot where they have to pretend they aren't still planning to blow up the offense. Whether you see it or not you just Tebowed your way back to the late Shanahan era, just good enough to make a run at the playoffs in a shitty division, just bad enough to not quite be ready to rebuild.
That's a bit pessimistic. It might turn out that way, or maybe we'll be contenders next year. I am not yet a Tebow apologist, and I have said aloud to nobody in particular "is there a quarterback in the stands?" during our long stretches of 3 and out bullshit. But I can't believe we're beginning a new era of futility. John Fox says "competence" to me, late at night when I'm lying in bed thinking about football . . . forget I said that. :(
